Whether you like a little height or big and bodacious hair, the right backcombing technique and a great brush is your best friend. My fave is the Spornette Little Wonder Teasing Brush with boar and nylon bristles. You can add just a touch of volume or broaden your horizons with this brush. I like to spray the bristles with Redken Workforce 09 to the base of the section of hair I want to lift, and a bit to my brush. Holding the ends of the section, backbrush from about the middle of the section down toward the scalp. When you’ve finished all the areas that need a boost, gently run the brush of the surface and the backcombed hair will stay in place and look smooth and glassy like a salon finish. Need more help?
